@pcd2025: #fypviral #katieprice #kieranhayler #update #court Jurors in the rape trial of Katie Price’s former husband Kieran Hayler have been urged to look beyond the “big egos” and “big personalities” involved in the case as they consider their verdicts. Hayler is standing trial at Lewes Crown Court accused of three counts of rape and one count of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in West Sussex in 2016. During his closing speech on Monday, prosecutor Ryan Richter told jurors they had witnessed “the whirlwind” surrounding media personality Katie Price but should focus only on evidence relevant to the charges. He accepted that jurors may approach Ms Price’s evidence with caution, adding that much of it may ultimately be considered irrelevant to deciding the case. Mr Richter said the jury had seen enough of the “egos, posing and posturing” surrounding the trial and must decide whether the complainant’s account had made them sure of Hayler’s guilt. He asked what motivation the complainant would have to come before a jury and lie about the allegations. Addressing messages exchanged between the complainant and Ms Price in 2017, including one in which Ms Price allegedly told the girl: “I will make you a little star”, Mr Richter questioned the defence suggestion that the message was central to the case. He told jurors it was unrealistic to suggest Ms Price had spent nine years planning to turn the complainant into a celebrity. Defence barrister Arlette Piercy urged jurors to remain calm and rational, warning that “emotion is enemy of reason”. She described the trial as a “rollercoaster ride” and said Hayler had remained consistent throughout his defence. Ms Piercy said Hayler and Ms Price had been involved in a “toxic, co-dependent relationship” marked by infidelity, alcohol and drug abuse, much of it played out publicly through reality television and media coverage. She also highlighted what she described as inconsistencies in the complainant’s evidence, noting there were more than 30 occasions when the witness said she could not remember events or did not know the answer to questions. Ms Piercy argued that the lack of a coherent account undermined the complainant’s overall credibility. Hayler denies all four charges and has previously told the court the allegations are part of a “smear campaign to ruin me” involving Ms Price. The trial continues.
