The movie “Son of Saul” (2015) is about a Sonderkommando. It is very highly rated, but after reading a synopsis, I’m not sure I could watch it.

One of the best things that every happened to me was my gameboy advance batteries dying while visiting my distant uncle, when I was maybe 8-9 years old. Instead of playing Pokemon to kill boredom, because there was no other thing to do I just sat and listened to his stories, stories about survivng Auschwitz. I'll never forget wearing his uniform, hearing "See? I was about your hight then"

I befriended one who moved after Auschwitz to NJ (1980s). He told me he had to move more dead bodies with his bare hands than could be imagined. He somehow had more positivity and smiles than most people I’ve known.

one of the truly horrific aspects of the holocaust is just how effective we as humans can get in terms of extinction, when we put out minds and technology to it. When we abandon morals, how truly terrifying and horrific our minds can be.
