the green party is currently focused on pushing labour back further left and has been thus far superficially successful i think it's perfectly fine for different political parties to exist for different purposes and goals

I don't think I agree with any of that, but I can only speak from personal experience. Everyone I know who is involved in the Green Party are majority politically aligned and are anti-genocide rather than anti-zionist. Similarly, they are anti apartheid, pro human rights.

Unfortunately many of the new members that have joined since the Zac effect have come to us from Labour and don't necessarily align with GP policies. We're also straining under the pressure of the massive increase in membership at a local level & the lack of staffing at the regional and national level to support them.

i mean the party lacked cohesion even before popular awareness of the genocide. I think people forget that a lot of liberals really care about the environment. Fuck, blue greens have always been a thing (I'm not counting eco fascists because I don't really think they're part of the electorate, and I think they'd prioritise their fascism if they were). I remember hearing a few candidates in like 2015 repeatedly talk about transcending the left and right

They feel like a protest party, similar to reform early in 2024. But reform under Nigel has at least tried to pivot from messaging about one issue and into other issues. Literally with greens it’s been Palestine, and nuclear. Unlike reform, where Nigel has the party under a leash so he can propose policy on their behalf, all Green members have to vote for proposed policy so Zack is limited to some of the bullshit his other members spew out

It’s wild that the oil crisis going on you’d think a lot of parties would be pushing green energy. Keir Starmer(sp?) was like “it would take 10 years for us to have renewable energy” OK SO? Better get started then. Even the Tories I’m so confused because isn’t that conservative politics ? Looking after number 1 first!

when I bring up Zack Polanski being interviewed by and aligning himself with an anti LGBTQIA+ Muslim news page and the green part defenders say it wasn't his fault and he didn't know because other people book interviews for him, as if it hasn't his responsibility as the head of a political group to know who he's aligning himself with based on his views
