@thedronelifenj: 🚧 Don't touch the control point. Don't even look at it. 😂✋ Every surveyor knows the feeling. You’ve got your control point set, everything is in place, and suddenly an equipment operator sneaks up… and BOOM! Control is wiped out! #GCP #surveying #dronemapping #surveyor #dronelife #dronepilot
As a grading superintendent I could tell the surveyors where to place controls that would keep them safe the longest, but it seems they would rather place them in the main cut/fill areas.

Even if you put it outside of the silt fence they still find a way of hitting it…

I love when graders shoot my control with their GPS to try and avoid having me come back. I get a call 2 weeks later that something is off. I set up on my control and everything checks. Turns out they punched in the wrong numbers for the BM that was set for them. That's an extra 4 hour charge for 30 minutes worth of work. This particular site was only 10 minutes from my office. 🤣

Most operators I work with are window lickers . I usually put my benchmarks on the corners of the area or scope or just outside of it and still they manage to run it over. There’s so many moving parts and development and nobody talks to each other.

Had some framers on an apartment job once that thought it was funny to hit my stakes. I drove rebar in next to them. Tires didn’t hold up well and was almost a brawl.
