Yes! I’ve been really disturbed by how many people seem to fail to see how manipulative it was for her father to share that information so abruptly. He was trying to create his own narrative and shift the blame.

I’m glad you mentioned how her father kind of casually/ abruptly mentioned Elizabeth’s SA in college as a way to excuse her from any personal accountability and then emphasized the age gap with Sunny, it felt so odd. and the Enron piece is so interesting

But Amanda seyfried did believe her for a second too! I think that was also necessary. Amanda talks about how billy was “controlling” her and not letting her use her voice and expresses frustration. She also feels bad when elizabeth gives the sob story about how her portrayal made her life harder in prison. Nathan is the one who got her to see that she was using that as a pawn. Even then Nathan got sucked in again even when he knew she was scamming him, and Amanda had to make him realize it. This was all necessary to show the depth of this scheme. This woman got henry Kissinger to go against his familys warnings and keep investing in her she is the farthest thing from an idiot and this really shows that

It makes me so curious about what the dynamic would’ve been if one of the sound/camera crew was a woman. To have a woman be one of the few observers that Nathan could have debriefed with at the end of the day.

Yeah I actually think that people SHOULDN’T go in blind. Too many people are falling prey to manipulation by her and the (very intentional) manipulation by Nathan and then from Billy. Because they haven’t seen/read all the interviews where it’s clear she knew she was very wrong and uses men to make excuses for her and there are way too many people falling for it. It’s literally a movie exploring manipulation. I truly do not understand how people are missing that gigantic piece. 💀

Yes! I also read Bad Blood, and have ingested a TON of media around Holmes since 2020. Seeing so many people be duped by her again… it is making me crazy 😩

I actually don’t think you can truly enjoy the movie going in blind. Not only is the context on Elizabeth necessary, I also think you need to have some sort of a creative relationship with Nathan Fielder in order to pick up on a lot of the humor.

Going in blind means JUST GOING BLIND ABOUT THE MOVIE. It doesn't mean go in without knowing anything about Elizabeth or Nathan. If I tell you to go in blind for the Resident Evil movie, it doesn't mean you should have never played the games or seen any of Zach Cregger's movies. It means don't read reviews of the movie or look at anything that could possibly spoil it. I don't know why people aren't understanding this
