Yeah, it took me 34 years and a late diagnosis to even realize I over explain-just thought this was how I spoke lol. Bottom up processing helps my story time-and people always told me they loved my explanations of experiences bc they could see the whole story for how I experienced it. I was just like….👍🏻…this is just how I talk? No-it’s the autism. I over explain so other actually understand me bc I am so misunderstood ALL THE TIME.

I try to remember that those who have your best interest in mind will interpret your words and actions in the best possible light, whereas those who'd misunderstand you are set on misunderstanding you no matter how much you try to explain yourself, so either way, there's really no point in trying to overexplain yourself.

Gonna now need to over explain why I felt the need to share this, and later I’ll need to repeat AND share examples of why I’m like this. Then later, I’ll share some social media content to show I’m not the only one.

I encountered someone explaining autism as internal rumination. What with frontal lobe neuron increases and more processing required for a lot more frontal lobe neurons this seems to me a language structure issue. How is language shared? A lot of the talk in this area is about ‘masking’ or trying to perform according to common social expectations seems to me ‘not’ masking but a commentary on word exchange mechanics. And to me ruminations is very revealing about the mental labor of word exchange. Neurotypicals seem to perform in a commons limit of language exchange and various peoples including language learners struggle with fluency flow in the word exchange. Neurotypicals effortlessly talk to each other as if no big deal. Autism draws attention to using language exchange forces expediency of exchange labor as opposed to inner rumination. While autism exposes this structure, this is a much bigger issue. Ash is extremely brilliant commentator. I wonder what Ash might discover ahead drilling into how rumination works?
