@sanctus029: Ernesto Che Guevara and Kim Il Sung 🇨🇺🇰🇵🚩, glory to Cuba and DPRK #fyp #socialism #northkorea #cuba #communism Socialism is a political and economic ideology that aims to reduce social inequalities and give workers and society greater control over economic resources. It promotes ideas such as collective or public ownership, social justice, workers’ rights and access to essential services like healthcare and education. There are different forms of socialism: some support democracy and a mixed economy, while others favor a centrally planned economy controlled by the state. In Cuba, socialism emerged from the Cuban Revolution, which overthrew the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista on January 1, 1959. The revolution was led by Fidel Castro, alongside revolutionary figures such as Che Guevara and Raúl Castro. In 1961, Fidel Castro officially declared the socialist character of the revolution. The government nationalized many industries and developed close relations with the Soviet Union. Cuban socialism became associated with Marxism-Leninism, public healthcare, education, social equality and opposition to American influence. Che Guevara played an important role in promoting revolutionary socialism and international solidarity. Cuba expanded literacy programs and access to healthcare, although its economic system has also faced shortages, low productivity and economic difficulties. The American trade embargo has contributed to these problems, alongside domestic economic challenges. Politically, Cuba remains a one-party state led by the Communist Party, and political opposition and freedom of expression face significant restrictions. In North Korea, socialism developed after the Second World War under the leadership of Kim Il-sung, who founded the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in 1948. The government established a centrally planned economy based on state ownership, collective agriculture and state-controlled industries. Initially influenced by Marxism-Leninism and the Soviet Union, North Korea gradually developed its own official ideology known as Juche, which emphasizes self-reliance, national independence and political sovereignty. Kim Il-sung promoted the idea that Korea should depend on its own resources and determine its own future without foreign domination. Under Kim Jong-il and Kim Jong-un, the country maintained this ideological tradition while placing considerable emphasis on military strength and national security. Unlike Cuba, North Korea places particularly strong emphasis on Juche, national unity and loyalty to its leadership. It is also a one-party state in which political opposition is not permitted, and the government exercises extensive control over information and public life. Although both countries describe themselves as socialist, Cuba's revolutionary tradition has emphasized social services and international cooperation, while North Korea's system places greater emphasis on national self-reliance, military defense and the preservation of its political system.
