giiiirl get him to a psychologist, he's probably ADHD and autism. also, give melatonin and magnesium glycinate at least 40 mins before he's should be asleep, it's completely safe, and will help him sleep properly pretty much always unless sick or something.

ok, for starters I don't know many parents who think bedtime is easy. It's a battle for many parents. I have a 5 year old and 3 year old and both have similar bedtime problems. The 5 year old used to take hours to get to bed too. The only thing that really worked was just staying with her until she was asleep. reading stories, talking or whatever till she falls asleep. Once she hit kindergarten something changed and now she goes to bed much easier. The 3 year old sounds like your son, she thinks it's hilarious when I chase her around frustrated trying to get into pajamas. And will do everything she can to avoid going to bed. two things that kind of work are leaning into the game, like chasing her and then catching and play wrestling tickling ect.. eventually she will agree to get in pjs. And also, this might be hard for your situation, but letting her play in her room for a bit but saying you don't have to get in bed but you can't leave the room or else I'm coming in and you do have to go to bed. sometimes shed fall asleep on the floor, other times shed actually come tell me she was ready for bed.
oh, and controversial opinion here, kids melatonin gummies.

quit the cosleeping and burn his energy off before bed. clearly hes got extra energy and doing calming things aint working. so do the opposite. bike, walk, run, playground, something outdoors. burning off energy and fresh air is quite a combo for a lot of kids to get em to sleep.

He’s very intelligent. He needs to be challenged more. Explain the why. I was like this too, my daughter is also like this. She’s 7 now.

He is 4 , try burning his energy off. Get him outside and find something that makes him use his energy. A tired boy will sleep and most of all don’t let him see you react. He thrives off your response.

have you asked him yet? Any time my boys dont listen or do things that are upsetting I ask them why, what is the thought process so I could understand. It works every single time. Also they do grow out of the not listening and it is 100% normal at that age. we also do relaxing activities before bed, like back tickles, foot rubs, soft humming, etc. As far as naps go at 4 they dont really need it anymore, I did quiet time where we can color, draw, read, or play quietly in place of nap time.

he wants your attention and he's is getting it at bed time. give him more attention during the day. less screen time for you, more playing with him.

Children laugh when nervous too. Have you tested for adhd. And at 4 there is nothing wrong with child sleeping with you. They still need you.

My experience with this behavior is that the parent is flexible and gives multiple chances on many things throughout the day. Let’s the kid know they don’t have to take the first, second, or third time being told something serious. You need to let him know with ALL things, that when you say something, that’s it. There’s no second chances. After he doesn’t listen once. Go to maximum until he learns you won’t be asking 5 times for anything. It’s how he experiences you through the day lets him know it’s a game at bedtime.

These are just questions from my head: Is he hungry? Have you asked him what he needs to go to bed? How long has this been going on?

don't do melatonin for kids. it's not recommended for kids. get him a sleep trainer light. and have a consistent bed time between 7-830.

I have a 3 year old boy. We’ve noticed that he goes ape shit if we give him ANYTHING red. Huge difference once we figured that out and eliminated it.
