Learn the history. Appreciate it. Relish in it. Don’t think of it like checking a box off an itinerary. Is my tip

If you’re not religious it won’t be as interested. The story behind it’s what’s interesting, not stone

I don’t care to see catholic buildings when they were originally pagan 😳 very interesting that the first time i learned of this was while in Italy …

I'm a big fan of history and I visit places I've read about as a kid & learned in school because it's so fascinating to me to be able to see a glimpse to the past through monuments & artifacts. I agree that if you don't learn about the history of these places it won't be as impactful upon you

You forgot the obligatory selfies!!!! [Laugh approved]
just came bck from Rome. honestly I was a bit disappointed . probably my fault for not doing more research. for me besides visiting the vatican and the coliseum/amphitheater. it mas meh. I think having thousands of people everywhere makes it hard to enjoy peacefully. it gave me new york city vibes. africans,Indians, and middle eastern vendors all over the place cant even walk. all the tours are pretty rushed. Florence was slightly better. its also a smaller city. everyone trying to scam you. lol. but its off the bucket list.
