I was there for my first time in June and it was horrible!! It definitely did not make me want to come back anytime soon. Loved Casa Marina but it was sad to see how bad all the beaches were in the area. There was one small one on the Gulf side that was pretty clean.

They clean it very often, the city has a contract. However.....nature. It is a living organism and very difficult to stop during the season. In fact, we don't want to actually stop it because it contains marine life. We just maintain it as best we can. Key west is not known for its beaches, do a little research before going. Its a boaters paradise.
