Last year my daughter’s cheer registration fee was $600. SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS. Just to register. That doesn’t even include the uniform. That was another $500+. It’s disgusting how much they are charging for these sports associated with PUBLIC schools

It’s gross! My daughter tried out for soccer $35 fee then they tell you the cost. It was over $400 for 2-3 months of soccer for a school?! The volleyball and basketball players don’t pay that. They’re renting fields from prime soccer fields

What about them letting reclassified students playing football? You have kids who are suppose to be in 10th grade playing with kids who are in 6th 7th and 8th grade! How is that safe? There is a team with 11 reclassified students on it! And they still haven’t gotten emergency personal at games!

Hi that’s me I’m the coach that stated that statement… we weren’t the only teams coming together in this association with other schools to make an hybrid team lol we just won and that got everyone’s attention but it’s happened alot within the organization in all of their sports not just dance and the organization did not have strict policies or rules until this year about that. Just to clarify:) I do agree from a coach perspective that there has been some shady things going on behind the scenes of this organization for a few years now that most of us coaches weren’t aware of as we were just trying to do our jobs and run teams without correct leadership above us.

They don’t hire proper emergency staff for the game. A kid broke his leg, screaming in the middle of the field while he went into shock, and we had to wait 10 minutes for a county ambulance.

As a dance studio owner, competition team and coach, these fees and cost are wayyyyy out of hand. These sports should be affordable to ALL kids.

I have nothing but praise for OUR coaches, but the organization as a whole has been nothing short of a nightmare! Not to mention the prejudices/lack of support for the southern part of the school district. There are constantly new, previously undisclosed fees, and random new “rules” all the time. If it weren’t for our coaches, who have fought for us, we would NEVER have continued to be a part of this organization.

We’ve had a good experience with both my daughter and son (playing respectively volleyball, baseball and football). Pertaining to the expenses leasehold and equipment do those go to improvements and equipment at schools in need, not certain, but clarifying is important.

I’ve had all three of my kids play sports with them- they are so corrupt!! One cheerleader pays are $800! For a season! The football players have to pay $500 per season with very old and crappy equipment. They spend $0 money on equipment- the end of the year all the parents had to pay for the kids to have a reward ceremony. I’m not even sure where any of the money goes bc they pay for NOTHING- I’ve been praying for someone to look into the

@Allyson Manley: The way SJMSAA was run a few years ago raised serious concerns about transparency, accountability & potential conflicts of interest. Our students deserve responsible leadership, a safe environment & adults who prioritize the athletes well-being. Please do NOT confuse SJMSAA with the JDL league. JDL was & is an excellent organization!

This is a corrupt for profit organization and the injuries are insane. I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve seen middle school football teams with &0+ people. Parent spend like 500 dollars or more and their kids will never play. It’s such a scam
