Meanwhile I got stabbed by a crazy 🐕🐕 that ran behind the counter while I was cashiering and stabbed me with a box cutter multiple times and she got out within 6months. That’s Washington state for you.

I’m so sorry but they obviously knew he was struggling, it’s your job as parents to try to figure out how to help. Innocent people got hurt and I’m tired of hearing about how mental illness is the cause. It’s not the cause it’s the consequence when either you don’t help yourself or you don’t get help. Mental illness is a spectrum and all you do is make everyone with any kind of one look crazy when shit like this happens.

While I have absolute sympathy for the parents, a social worker would not have kept that man from killing someone by stabbing them. When someone has actively stabbed people as this man did, the police act in the best interest of the public to protect them from a deadly weapon which a box cutter is universally categorized as a deadly weapon. The police shift from crisis intervention after active stabbing into protecting victims. Had he simply been holding it & not already attacked people maybe that would have warranted different action, but he stabbed people. Would it have been different if in the act of stabbing folks he hit someone’s artery? Because that’s a real risk of actively taking a box cutter to someone.
