Maiduguri is the most underrated state capital in northern Nigeria. Aside Kano, no northern Nigeria capital has the commercial build up of Maiduguri. Aside from Kano, Kaduna and Jos, no northern capital is as developed as Maiduguri. Waste management is what is holding maiduguri back, as it is one of the dirtiest capitals we have in Nigeria.
