@browneyedgurl801: LAWTON, Iowa — An 88-year-old woman's death has raised serious questions about staffing and oversight at a western Iowa assisted living facility. State inspectors cited Lawton Senior Living for 31 violations after discovering that an untrained 16-year-old employee had been left alone to care for 10 memory care residents during a shift when the woman's injuries were believed to have occurred. The woman suffered multiple serious injuries and died approximately two weeks after being hospitalized. Her cause of death could not be determined. The investigation uncovered additional concerns involving employee training, background checks and resident safety. The facility was fined, and its management company later fired a regional administrator.
