@rosemaryangrace: When you cut off the bottoms of store bought green onions, why not reuse them? Just stick the rooted little white ends at the bottom in some soil like in the video and keep the soil moist and in a sunny window. Trim off the tops whenever you need them for a recipe and they’ll grow back.
