In the video I covered the main lesson, but I didn't have time to go into the fire itself. Here's a bit more on what the last verses describe. Allah calls it "the Fire of Allah, kindled," and this is the only place in the Quran the Fire is named that way. Ibn Ashur says "kindled" means its flame never dies down. Then it "rises up to the hearts." Ibn Kathir records that it burns through to their hearts while they're still alive. Al-Qurtubi explains that pain reaching the heart would kill a person, but they don't die. Then it's shut tight over them with no way out, and most scholars say the long columns are what keep it locked over them. May Allah protect us from it.
