I got the virus as a child from my mom. She got cold sores. People hear “herpes” and yes, it’s a sexually transmitted virus. But it CAN be passed in non-sexual ways and that’s not commonly known, sadly

Wow 90% of us have HSV1, and 60% have HSV2, I had no idea it was dangerous to infants. So sad.

omg i just started peds rotation and i saw a baby with HSV-1 encephalitis and it was probably dad's fault since he had active cold sore 😬😬 crazyyyy

This comment section is why the world state is where it is. There was no ill intent and no matter what any one says she’s probably thought worse of herself - and at no point was it malicious. Poor mom, and family. Heartbreaking for them all ❤️
