I know it must be rough at times, but at least you still have him with you. in the physical sense. My mom left a year ago this month, and I miss her so much.

That’s how to do it. At first it’s unnatural to say things that aren’t necessarily true, but whatever eases their worries is the way to go. My mom can’t remember my dad passed away and asks about him all the time. We just tell her he’s doing fine, is well cared for and thinks of her every day. My guess is he still thinks of her every day from the great beyond.

If you said ok let’s go and you two got into car do you think he’d turn it around and ask you why you needed to go? If not, might a joy ride be an option? I know it’s not easy, would need to bring supplies, and I just paused to google and see it’s easily 5 hrs one way 😌
