Tik Tok keeps presenting me people who articulate ideas that are on the edges of my radar, not fully fleshed out, yet seeping into my thoughts, affecting my actions, sometimes even without words. Sending the bill to someone else is the perfect way to put it. Being there for so many people and no one being there when my dad died or my mom nearly died open my eyes. Cutting them off was the best thing I did.

💯 Look for people who reciprocate! I don’t necessarily dispose of people who don’t show up for me but I stop going the extra mile for them. Some “friends” are just fair weather company

i was the first to arrive at a funeral when the mother of an old friend from highschool passed. we hadnt spoken en years but i couldnt bear not giving her a hug and telling her how sorry i was for her loss :( i’ll never regret acting like a villager even when its not returned

I'm the youngest of four girls our parents are gone they all had kids, and since I was the youngest I was the built-in babysitter I have many nieces and nephews, none of them call me or check in me. I've become the old cat lady working from home in isolation for the last 6 years one thing has taught me through a lot of agonizing pain and isolation you have to come first and if those people don't show up for you don't look back just go forward.

There comes a time when we/me, really don't want to see the truth. l cared, l cared. l showed up to their saddest/happiest days and even a funeral here and there. Then l discovered hard way, the friends were only there for good times. l didn't go to any more funerals anymore because they didn't come for mine. Who needs friends like that? Fake! Then l had to protect my peace and have no further trust. l am much happier now.
