@beyondthethinblueline: 🚨 Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson wants to save millions by replacing certain police department positions with civilian employees. And once again, I have to ask: When does government start taking responsibility for how it manages OUR money? These politicians constantly talk about budget shortfalls, raising taxes, cutting costs, and restructuring essential services. But where is the accountability for how taxpayer dollars are being spent in the first place? The argument is that civilian employees can handle administrative duties for less money, freeing up officers for the streets. Fine, but will those savings actually translate into better policing and better services for Chicago residents? Because here’s what taxpayers are tired of: PAYING MORE AND GETTING LESS! Before asking taxpayers for another dollar or making changes to essential public services, how about eliminating government waste, managing budgets responsibly, and showing the public where their hard-earned money is going? We constantly hear about what government needs to take away, cut back on, or charge us more for. But when do we start seeing better results for the money we’re already paying? Government works for the people. The people don’t work for the government! At what point do taxpayers finally start getting their money’s worth? 🇺🇸 #cops #police #politics #chicago #taxes
