maybe learn what "bricked" means? they did not brick any consoles. they're still fully working, they just don't have access to PSN which Sony has always done with PS3 and PS4 if you weren't on the latest version. And honestly people should be aware that staying on a lower firmware will make them not have access to PSN, it's what you lose when it comes to jailbreaking
