Hear me out. Do you actually need to get involved at all? Obviously you’ve uncovered very mean behavior but are they actually saying that they’ve done or plan to do anything harmful to the manager or that is against company policies? Maybe a generic email saying their conversation was flagged is enough. I think IT needs coaching on when HR needs to be engaged. Bc raising it your department probably brings up liability that wouldn’t otherwise need action from you

honestly I dont even care if its a work chat, what adult human talks about another human like that?!? it doesn't even sound like shes mean they are just talking about her appearance. its disgusting. those are just bad people. work chat or private texts thats gross.
