@sharrellsworld: R&B LEGEND FREDDIE JACKSON LAID TO REST IN HARLEM TODAY (Credit: WBLS / New York Amsterdam News) The music world is officially saying goodbye to one of the greatest voices in R&B history. Homegoing services for Quiet Storm icon Freddie Jackson were held on Monday, October 19, at Mount Neboh Baptist Church in Harlem, New York! Freddie Jackson passed away peacefully on October 5 at 69 years old, just three days before he would have celebrated his 70th birthday. If you grew up on 80s and 90s R&B, you know Freddie was the undisputed soundtrack to love with massive hits like "You Are My Lady," "Rock Me Tonight," "Tasty Love," and "Jam Tonight"! Before he became a global superstar, he got his start singing right there in Harlem churches, making this final service a full-circle moment. In his later years, he courageously shared his journey with chronic kidney disease to help others take care of their health. Rest in paradise to a true music titan, Freddie Jackson.
