@blitznews.net: Albania entered its seventh consecutive day of student protests on Monday, with demonstrators rallying against the deterioration of public education, the rising cost of living, corruption, and the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama. During the latest unrest, protesters were filmed setting fire to the Tirana Court of Appeal amid clashes with security forces, who responded with tear gas, water cannons, and rubber projectiles. Authorities reported that more than 300 people were injured over the first six days of demonstrations. In response, Rama announced a series of measures targeting those involved in the protests. Students who assault police officers stand to lose their scholarships, financial aid, and free education benefits. Parents of minors involved in acts of vandalism will reportedly be required to cover the cost of material damages. The government also approved bonuses of approximately 2,500 euros for each of the 2,750 officers deployed during the unrest. The legal framework for applying the educational sanctions and family charges has not yet been specified. Protesters have continued to call for Rama's resignation, which he has ruled out.
