@jasondoroughauthor: Whether a small-press author counts as indie depends on who you ask. My definition is simple: an indie author is their own publisher. They pay the costs, choose the platforms, and no one else acquires the book. A small press that covers those costs and decides what to publish is traditional, even if it is tiny. Organizations disagree, and both paths are legitimate. The useful question is which model fits the career you want, not which label sounds better.
