Occasionally, you will see it where a situation is blatantly good or bad. However, human psychology and behaviors are far more nuanced than that. The documentary aimed to show that two things can be true at once. On one hand, it must be remembered that a baby boy did not get the chance to live the life that he should have. We will never know what could have become of him or how much love he could've brought other people. To leave a fellow person, especially a baby, any trash bag is heart, wrenching; and those who carried out his funeral were sickened that something like that could happen. On the other hand, the person that Gail grew up to being was not an innately bad one. She is loved by her husband, living children, grandchildren, and community. She grew up with heavy prejudice and judgment surrounding her and believed that she had truly done something wrong and immoral by being intimate prior to marriage. According to Gail, she doesn't remember much of the pregnancy at all and has been very remorseful.
