@dralexis_md: Insurance said no. Now the prior authorization calls, forms, and appeals begin while a patient waits for a lupus treatment their rheumatologist recommended. This is a routine part of rheumatology care, and it takes time away from patients. Getting the medication you need shouldn’t feel like another full-time job. #PriorAuthorization #Lupus #Rheumatology #MedicationAccess #PatientAdvocacy

I agree. I want my rheumatologist making decisions with me. I went through this with getting infusion medication. My dr wanted to put me on a certain medication but insurance denied it and said I had to do another one.

The insurance nightmare that we have dealt with the last two years trying to get the treatment my daughter needed for leukemia & getting the follow up care/needed test has been exhausting. It’s awful! I wouldn’t give up. I wrote representatives, talked to ombudsmen, member advocates, & did a fair hearing.

For-profit health insurance is the gatekeeper, not the actual clinician. Are we ready for a change yet?

100%. I’m constantly in this battle with my gastro. I feel so bad because he’s constantly fighting with my insurance to cover necessary injections. They took my last medication out of their formulary and now my disease is classified as severe because of what they did 🥲

As an RA patient that’s been trying to get a med approved for well over a month now I support this message 110%. My rheumatologist has tried my family care. Doctor has tried an ortho has even supported this.

I can relate. The third party payor is an invisible factor in the equation by the patient's choice within our medical management industry. We are not providing care for free. Patients are using insurance to mitigate the financial risk just like homeowners insurance or auto insurance. The insurance company is the one paying so they hold sway. For my own health care, I choose providers, facilitates, labs, pharmacies, and prescriptions that require me to pay 100% out of pocket despite having medical insurance through my job. Why? Because medical insurance companies said no to my needs. So I prioritize investing in my health with or without them. What is so heartbreaking is that not everyone has a job to be able to afford even a single doctor visit. My rheumatologist scolded me for not seeing other specialists often enough. I have a $6,000 deductible to pay before insurance pays a dime. It's always darkest before the dawn. My rheumatology labs came back normal on all 7 tests after 2 decades of struggling. I attribute the remission to LDN 1.5mg to 4.5 mg (100% out of my own pocket), bioidentical progesterone cream ((100% my cost too), one-fifth of a starting dose of GLP-1 Semaglutide 0.05mg injection weekly (100% my investment), glycine 15mg daily (100% my money), vitamin D3 40,000 IU daily (100% my expense).... and it all worked to put my symptoms and lab markers into remission. ✨✨✨

I had to appeal 4 times to get my Rituxan infusion approved, and his was the second round when at first it was approved for an entire year! I advocate with my rheumatologist! Insurance should not be able to decide what we need as patients!!

🚨🤯 PHILIPPE COUTINHO vs MEMPHIS DEPAY — TWO GENERATIONAL TALENTS WHO LEFT FOOTBALL FANS ASKING “WHAT IF?” 🎩🔥 Some footballers have all the talent in the world but never quite reach the heights people expected. Others face setbacks, rebuild their careers, and prove their doubters wrong. Philippe Coutinho and Memphis Depay are two fascinating examples of how differently a football career can unfold. 👀⚽ 🇧🇷 PHILIPPE COUTINHO — THE BRAZILIAN MAGICIAN! ✨🎩 At Liverpool, Coutinho was pure entertainment. His incredible close control, effortless dribbling, creative passing, and trademark long-range strikes made him one of the most exciting attacking midfielders in the Premier League. He could change a game with one moment of brilliance, whether it was a curling shot into the top corner or a perfectly weighted pass that unlocked an entire defence. During his peak at Liverpool, fans genuinely believed he could become one of the best attacking midfielders in the world. 🔥🚀 His move to Barcelona in January 2018 was worth an initial €120 million, potentially rising to €160 million with add-ons. Expectations were enormous, but he struggled to establish himself consistently at the Spanish giants. Despite winning major honours, including the Champions League with Bayern Munich during his loan spell, many fans still wonder what Coutinho could have achieved if his career had followed a different path. 💔🏆 🇳🇱 MEMPHIS DEPAY — THE COMEBACK STORY! 💪🇳🇱 Memphis arrived at Manchester United with huge expectations after impressing at PSV Eindhoven, but his time in England did not unfold as many had hoped. Instead of allowing that difficult period to define him, he rebuilt his career at Lyon, where he rediscovered his confidence, developed into a more complete attacker, and became a key figure in the team's attack. His journey continued through Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, and other clubs, while his performances for the Netherlands cemented his place in the country's football history. Memphis became the Netherlands' all-time leading goalscorer, demonstrating his longevity and importance at international level. 🇳🇱🔥 Unlike Coutinho, whose reputation was built heavily on his creative brilliance and spectacular goals, Memphis has combined goalscoring with versatility, link-up play, and the ability to operate across different attacking positions. His story is a reminder that a difficult start does not have to determine the rest of a player's career. 👏💯 ⚔️ BUT HERE IS THE BIG DEBATE! 🎩 Coutinho at his peak: Exceptional creativity, magical dribbling, long-range shooting, and the ability to produce moments nobody saw coming. 🔥 Memphis at his peak: Goalscoring, versatility, physical strength, international achievements, and the determination to rebuild his career after setbacks. Both players possessed elite technical ability, but their strengths were different. Coutinho arguably reached a more dazzling creative peak at Liverpool, while Memphis built a remarkable international legacy and demonstrated his quality across several stages of his career. The real question is whether you value peak ability and pure magic or longevity, goals, and overall career impact. 💬 FOOTBALL FANS, SETTLE THIS DEBATE! 🇧🇷 PHILIPPE COUTINHO 🎩 or 🇳🇱 MEMPHIS DEPAY 🔥? Who was the BETTER player at his absolute peak? And whose career do you think could have turned out even better? Drop your winner in the comments! 👇🤯 #PhilippeCoutinho #MemphisDepay #FootballDebate #LiverpoolFC #FCBarcelona
