What initially appeared to be a missing-person case soon became a heartbreaking murder investigation. Georgia was a college student with ambitions of joining the Royal Air Force as a paramedic. Friends and family remembered her as a bright young woman with her future ahead of her. On May 26, 2013, Georgia went to meet Jamie Reynolds, an acquaintance who had arranged what he described as a photography project. She was never seen alive again. Investigators later uncovered evidence that Reynolds had planned the encounter. Her disappearance led police on a search across multiple locations, and Reynolds was arrested in Glasgow just days later. Georgia’s remains were eventually discovered in woodland near Wrexham, Wales. Reynolds later admitted to her murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 20 years. The case shocked the public because Georgia had trusted someone she knew.
