Have you heard the news?! The Wild Center in Tupper Lake, NY now has a permanent Thomas Dambo troll! That’s right - a giant, magical wooden troll has officially found a home in the Adirondacks, just a 4 hour drive from Rochester, NY. This troll has joined the Wild Center’s incredible collection of art, nature, and family friendly outdoor adventures. Keep reading to learn more about this exciting new development! #partner @The Wild Center In case you missed it, there have been six Thomas Dambo trolls hidden in the woods of the Wild Center as part of the TROLLS: Save the Humans exhibition. If you’re unfamiliar with his work, Thomas Dambo is a Danish artist who uses repurposed and discarded materials to create giant, whimsical wooden troll sculptures hidden in forests and public parks around the world. Each troll has a unique name, personality, and story. The trails leading to the trolls throughout the Wild Center are easy to navigate and family friendly! There’s still time to experience TROLLS: Save the Humans at The Wild Center through October 31, 2026. And as of September 12, there’s a brand-new reason to visit: Discover Patrick Sapling, New York State’s first permanent Thomas Dambo troll! Patrick Sapling is named in tribute to Patrick Dougherty, the American sculptor who creates monumental works from living tree saplings - including the Hopscotch stickwork sculpture at the Wild Center. Come visit the Wild Center to see Patrick Sapling and Hopscotch, hike the peaceful Forest Music trail, roll wooden balls down the Raquette River Roll, walk among the treetops on the Wild Walk, explore the indoor exhibits, and so much more! The Wild Center can be part of a wonderful family getaway to the Adirondacks. There are lovely accommodations (we stayed at the Hotel Saranac), awesome hikes (we love Coney Mountain), and delicious food and drinks (we had an awesome dinner at RiverTrail Beerworks and a fantastic breakfast at Origin Coffee). Be sure to book your tickets ahead of visiting at www.wildcenter.org. Tags: #WildCenter, #SaveTheHumans #ThomasDambo #Trolls
