Patrice Endres disappeared during a normal workday in April 2004, leaving behind a mystery that investigators in north Georgia have yet to solve. The 38-year-old hairdresser and mother vanished from her salon along Highway 19 in Dawson County, near Gainesville, in what authorities describe as one of the region’s most unusual unsolved cases. Investigators say the tight timeline of her disappearance suggests whoever was responsible likely acted quickly and with confidence. According to investigators, Patrice Endres was working alone on April 15, 2004. Phone records and customer accounts show she was carrying out normal business that morning. Sometime between roughly 11:37 a.m. and 11:50 a.m., she vanished. Her car, purse, and lunch were left behind inside the salon, and there were no obvious signs of a struggle, leading authorities to believe she may have left under duress. Eyewitness accounts became a key part of the investigation. One witness reported seeing Endres outside the salon during the narrow time window, appearing to speak with someone. Another reported seeing a vehicle in the area behaving in a way investigators later described as unusual. These sightings suggested she may have been lured or forced outside rather than taken from inside the building, though investigators have never confirmed exactly what happened during those final minutes. Over time, investigators examined whether known violent offenders in the region could be connected to the case. Attention at various points has included Gary Hilton, a convicted serial k*ller responsible for multiple murders in the southeastern United States. Authorities have stated publicly that while Hilton was investigated due to geographic proximity and timeline overlap, no evidence has ever tied him directly to Endres’ disappearance. Investigators and media discussions have also referenced Jeremy Jones, a convicted serial k*ller who claimed involvement in numerous crimes across several states. Jones reportedly made statements suggesting knowledge of the case, but law enforcement has said his claims were inconsistent and not supported by verifiable evidence. Officials have repeatedly emphasized that no suspect has been officially named in connection with the case. Investigators also examined people close to Endres, including her husband, Rob Endres, which is standard procedure in missing persons and homicide cases. Publicly, he described himself as devastated by her disappearance and said he deeply loved his wife. At the same time, some of Endres’ family members, friends, and her son have publicly expressed doubts about him over the years. Some said they believed he was jealous of Patrice’s close relationship with her son and described him as controlling or possessive in the relationship. Law enforcement, however, has said he had what was described as a strong or airtight alibi for the time she disappeared, and he was never charged with a crime or officially named as a suspect. In December 2005, more than a year after she disappeared, hikers discovered skeletal remains in a wooded area of Dawson County about 10 miles from the salon. The remains were later confirmed to be Endres. Due to decomposition and environmental exposure, medical examiners were unable to determine an exact cause of death. Today, the case remains open, and investigators continue to encourage anyone with information to come forward, hoping new forensic technology or witness accounts could eventually provide answers. #truecrime #truecrimetok #unsolvedmysteries #murder #horror
