Believe it or not sometimes frozen is better, especially if it's caught filleted and frozen right on the boat. Unfortunately, the grocery stores don't get fish in every day and you don't know how long it was sitting on the fish pier before it arrived. Bottom line is fresh fish should smell sweet, not fishy.
