I am not understanding the no sleep for 72 hours. I’ve been a nurse for 33 years and a lot of that in CICU. What is the reasoning behind that? If they were that worried, why wasn’t he in the hospital?

Not just CAN be life threatening- it’s nickname is INSTANT DEATH. It’s a miracle when someone survives it. If you do survive, any tissue the clots hit dies- in your lungs or heart.
