@lala_darling: Listen, I think there’s something a lot of people are missing in this whole Minky Couture and Lola Blankets controversy. Minky Couture was founded in 2009. Their Hugs blanket came out around 2019, and in 2020, the two founders of Lola Blankets lost their mother. According to their own story, their mother had a faux fur blanket she absolutely loved, and before she passed away, she made sure each of her children received one of those blankets along with a personal letter. Now, here’s where I think people need to connect a few dots. Both companies have roots in Utah. By that time, Minky Couture was EVERYWHERE in Utah. Their blankets were being given to people in hospitals, cancer centers, NICUs, and families going through some of the hardest moments of their lives. I have a very strong suspicion that the blanket their mother loved may have actually been a Minky Couture Hugs blanket. I can’t prove that, but considering the timeline, the location, and how popular Minky Couture already was, I certainly think it’s a possibility worth considering. And if that’s true, think about how beautiful that actually is. One company’s creation may have inspired another family’s way of honoring their mother. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that! Most businesses are inspired by something that came before them. It doesn’t diminish their success, their story, or the beautiful products they create. I think BOTH companies have wonderful stories, and both make beautiful blankets. But I also think Minky Couture deserves a tremendous amount of credit. They’ve been around since 2009, their customer service is fantastic, and they’ve spent years building a company that has brought comfort to countless people. You can love Lola Blankets without tearing down Minky Couture. And when you’re comparing the two, don’t forget which company was there first. #minkycouture #lolablankets #inspiration
