Companies like to see movement in your work because it makes you look desirable. BUT companies also want to see longevity because if they hire you, they want to think you’ll also stay for a while. 6 months to 1 year at a job when you’re starting off is great.

It’s because it looks better on your resume that’s why we feel obligated. Job hopping works only if the experience isn’t relevant from the last job and you have experience or qualifications they’re looking for. But it’s not impossible to leave before a year just gotta hope you can answer the questions as to why you’re job hopping.

I gave my first job 2 years top and refused to stay any longer. The signs were there it was definitely time to leave. You’ll always know when it’s time because things start getting toxic. Thankfully I was able to get into another role just a month later of applying. He’s right, don’t get too comfortable but definitely have something lined up before you leave. These days are unpredictable.
