@elevatemd: Girls, we need to keep talking about this #perimenopause to histamine pipeline. This histamine issue is bigger than I realized! 😅👀 Histamine intolerance is an alarmingly common experience for so many of our perimenopause patients, and yet so many women have been told their symptoms are "random" or "just anxiety." So I'm turning this into a series to help shed some light on what histamine intolerance is, how to track it, and how to manage it. 🤌🏻 Here's the tricky part: there aren't any reliable tests for histamine intolerance, so we're relying on symptom patterns to figure out what's triggering your flares. That's why tracking is so powerful. Start jotting down when your symptoms show up, where you are in your cycle, what you ate, how you slept, and what your stress levels looked like. ✍🏻 Some of the most common triggers we see… 1️⃣ Hormonal fluctuations, especially around ovulation or your luteal phase
2️⃣ Barometric pressure changes (October is especially brutal for some reason 😩)
3️⃣ Exercise
4️⃣ Stress, especially from lack of sleep
5️⃣ New medications or supplements
6️⃣ Food, which is one of the most common triggers. (A low histamine diet can make a massive difference, I’ll cover that later in this series) Histamine triggers can be totally different for everyone, so I'd really love to know what your histamine triggers are? 🤔 I think we can start to connect some more of these hormone/histamine dots in the comments! 👀 🩺📲 If you're in the US and curious about hormone therapy for perimenopause or menopause symptom management, go to the 🔗 in my bio to book a free 30 minute call with my team to learn how to get started. 🤗 #hormonehealth #hormonalimbalance #womenover30 #womenover40

I’ve had histamine issues since high school (1980s) and just learning it’s a thing!! Fever, lack of sleep, daylight are some triggers. I live on Claritin 😋

I’m seeing a allergist Thursday for the first time, it will be interesting on what her view is! Mine is monthly when I would get a period, and too many high histamine foods in the same day - like tomatoes, shrimp and wine

Have them, singular and Zyrtec a day keep them away. I haven’t pin pointed what causes them though.

when you talk about histamine and allergy problems... I was not allergic to anything until I turned 30, then my "warranty expired" (personal joke) and im now allergic to all oral antibiotics, and constantly have flairs with simple things like certain shops and most dairy food. unsure if this is part of the histamine issues but im reaching out coz im lost on what to do.
