@slocountyrundown: The Cayucos Pier is getting its 15 feet back 🌊 Storms in early 2024 knocked out pilings at the end of the pier, and crews removed the last 15 feet last year to keep it safe. Now county supervisors have voted unanimously to rebuild it to its original 950 feet. The roughly $1.2 million fix is mostly covered by insurance and FEMA disaster funds, and work on the design starts now. No construction dates yet, but we'll share them (and any closures) as soon as they're announced. Fun fact: the pier was first built in 1876, so it turns 150 this year 🎉 #Cayucos #SLOCounty #CayucosPier #CentralCoast Follow along for more SLO County news, and get our free Thursday email at slocountyrundown.com.
