@christina_rico: Want to get out to hike in November ? Hiking season in the desert is just ramping up, and here are 4 trails you can hit…1 for every weekend. :) All of these are in the east valley, but I am happy to guide you to others, if you’re in a different area. • Turks Cap Summit: 5.3 mi RT | 1,100 ft gain | Watch for cairns + a short scramble near the top • (Picacho Peak) : ~5.8 mi | ~1,700 ft gain | Some people like to bring gloves for the cables + start early. You can also take Hunter Trail for a different experience, and shorter hike • Jacob’s Crosscut Trail : 11.1 miles is the total length of the trail, but if you start at first water, you can weave along, and head back when you want | 600 ft gain | My dogs love it over here! • Lone Tree (Peralta Canyon) : 5.6 mi RT | 1,450 ft gain | Best in cooler months, very little shade. I love this trail, and it’s one of our favorites. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you leave no trace AND pick up your dog poop bags. I’ve been seeing so many lately. Our trash is our responsibility. Please be a respectful hiker and steward of the outdoors.
