I’m a bartender and do a lot of quinces I do my job right and I’m all about the law. These teens will find a way to get alcohol and it’s through the adults. I’ve even had an event where they got upset cause I was IDing.

I bartended a quince. ID everyone yet the kid that took a gun out was drunk and I never served him. His family would get drinks and pass them around, the host did the same. Its hard even doing our job knowing people will still break rules

People forget a Quince is literally a kids bday party. Why have alcohol ? Weddings I understand but if this is a party for a child … there’s no need to have so much alcohol, because at that point the party isn’t for the girl it’s for the adults

Every kid is getting a flashing led bracelet and adults will have a different wrist band. If I catch a flashing bracelet holding a drink they are out!!!

We just had a quince and a girl got drunk before coming and snuck alcohol inside she was so drunk she looked like she was about to die! We called the fire department and I scolded her mom as she “always gets like that”. Our party was almost shut down because of her

There were parents arrested here in Texas for a child underage drinking and it wasn’t even their fault the child went and stole the bottle they had for the padrinos. The poor girls quince was ruined. This was just a few months ago🥺

I think it’s always the responsibility of the host. You have a bartender, it’s still your responsibility that the bartender is following the rules.

I had the bartender give bracelets for those that showed their ID in order to drink. Also I had someone walk around to make sure no one with a bracelet didn’t have an alcohol beverage.

The thing is. It can be an adult getting the drink and giving it to an underage drinker.. I know because I was the one getting the drinks when I would ask for them because I knew the bartender would say no.

the venue we chose has a separate bar area. So you have to go through doors for the bar, and the non-alcoholic drinks were served by the appetizer station

we went to 15, my son is the light and sound engineer for a grupo, the 15 girl got on stage and downed half a bottle of buzz ball. the guys from the grupo looked at each other like wtf! then the grupo got down to the dance floor and the mom, kept pushing the bottle at the guys from the grupo. they refused to drink from the bottle but there were alot of teens getting drunk at that 15. we (my daughter's and I) left early cus no, my son said mom that was crazy the 15añera got so sick and made a mess 🤮 every where. the mom was also drunk. it was crazy I had never seen that .

But this is a private event if they did have a bartender it’s up to not only the bartender but the event manager/ owner to make sure there is no underage drinking and at that it’s hard to tell if it’s a lot of people some people do allow their kids to drink so it’s hard to say if the parents allow it as well

Drinking at quinces is so so common - there's always an adult present that thinks it's ok because "back home" they'd be drinking already 🙄🙄 and unfortunately it's sometimes the parents

Tbh a lot of kids do it. They bring their own bottles in and drink all they want Or they steal beers.
