Why Roll Her on Her Side?
Every snore you hear in this video is air squeezing past a blocked airway. When someone is out cold, their muscles go limp — and on their back, gravity pulls the tongue into the throat. Snoring means the tongue or palate is partly blocking it (Resuscitation Council UK).
What each step does:
1️⃣ Her hand to her cheek: it holds her head steady while she rolls, then works as a pillow that keeps her face angled down.
2️⃣ Bend her far knee up: it's your lever. Pull it toward you and she rolls in one move. Afterward it props her up so she can't roll onto her face (St John Ambulance).
3️⃣ On her side, gravity pulls the tongue forward, away from the throat, and anything in her mouth — spit, blood, vomit — drains out instead of into her lungs.
Only use it if she's breathing. Call 911, tilt her head back a little to keep the airway open, and keep checking her breathing. If it stops, roll her onto her back and start CPR (American Heart Association).
In a study of 553 children who passed out, across 6 European countries, only 1 in 4 were put in the recovery position — and those who were were far less likely to need a hospital stay.
