Romanian schools struggle to adapt to modern standards, and this is one of the reasons why bullying, smoking, and other social problems are still unresolved. These issues are not properly controlled, not because all teachers are careless, but because the system itself is outdated and does not offer enough support or clear solutions. Many schools still focus mostly on grades, exams, and memorization. Students are judged by their marks, while their emotional health, behavior, and social development are often ignored. A modern school should not only prepare students for tests, but also teach them respect, communication, responsibility, and conflict solving. Bullying remains one of the biggest problems. Some students are insulted, excluded, threatened, or even physically attacked by classmates. Many victims do not report these situations because they are afraid that nothing will change. Teachers may notice the problem, but they do not always have enough time, training, or institutional support to solve it properly. Smoking is another issue that schools fail to control. Even if smoking is forbidden for minors and inside school areas, many students still smoke near schools or during breaks. Punishment is not enough; students also need real education about health, addiction, and peer pressure. Another serious problem is the lack of psychological support. Teenagers deal with stress, anxiety, family problems, and social pressure, but many schools do not have enough counsellors. Because of this, students often face their problems alone. The real issue is not necessarily the teachers, but the system.
