@plush.sheepnews: Brooklyn Nine-Nine Creator Says a Reboot Would Be Hard Without Andre Braugher Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-creator Dan Goor says the show wouldn’t be the same without Andre Braugher. At a New York Comic Con panel on Oct. 8, Goor was asked about the late actor’s impact. “It is the one thing that really makes me wonder how we could do a reboot. But we would find a way,” he said. Braugher played Captain Raymond Holt for all eight seasons, from 2013 to 2021. He d*ed of lung cancer in 2023 at age 61. Goor praised his talent. “Andre’s humanity and his unbelievable talent, his seriousness in being funny, his joy in being funny,” he said. He added that Braugher hadn’t really done a comedy like this before and was “so joyous about it.” Melissa Fumero, who played Amy Santiago, shared her favorite memory. Her dressing room was next to Braugher’s, so she heard his playlist every day. When she was pregnant, his music lulled her to sleep during power naps. She says she would wake up to him singing “at the top of his lungs.” There is no official word on continuing the show. But Goor teased that a reunion would be needed to find out what’s next for Andy Samberg’s and Fumero’s characters. “Seeing you guys here makes me think we should do it,” he told the audience. Fumero told ScreenRant last year that she doesn’t think the cast could do more episodes without Braugher. “I don’t think we could ever do it, though, without Andre,” she said.
