@momomoko_jp: You don't need to read Japanese. You need to read ten characters that are on every door, sign and taxi: 🚪 押 = PUSH · 引 = PULL. The sticker at hand height on most glass doors. 押 has a hand (扌) pushing; 引 is a bow being drawn back 🚻 男 = MEN · 女 = WOMEN. Fancier places use 殿 / 姫 (lord / princess) or 紳士 / 婦人 — 殿 and 紳士 = men. Colors aren't a safe guide 🚉 出口 = EXIT · 入口 = ENTRANCE. 出 = out, 入 = in. 非常口 = emergency exit (the green running man) 🅿️ 空 = EMPTY · 満 = FULL. 空席 seats free · 満席 full house · 満車 lot full. On a taxi roof, 空車 (kuusha) = free — wave at that one 🏪 営業中 = OPEN · 準備中 = closed (preparing) · 定休日 = regular day off. Check the hanging sign before you line up Save the last slide — five pairs in one screenshot 🔖 📲 Can read it — can you say it? Practice "where's the exit?" out loud — search "Kana Language Partner" in your app store Which door did you get wrong? 👇 #japantravel #learnjapanese #kanji #japantraveltips #tokyotravel
