@thecat.reporster: Oregon Wide Receiver Evan Stewart Arrested On DUII Charge Hours After Team’s Win Over Nebraska Oregon Ducks wide receiver Evan Stewart, 23, was arrested early on Sunday, Oct. 18. Officers allege he was driving under the influence of intoxicants, known as DUII, according to Springfield, Oregon, arrest records. It came just hours after the Ducks beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers 17-14 on Saturday. Stewart did not play in the game. He had been ruled out with an undisclosed injury. Springfield police said an officer pulled Stewart over around 5 a.m. and began a DUI investigation because they suspected driver impairment. Police said the officer “developed probable cause” to arrest him. The citation was issued at 5:34 a.m., according to the records. KATU reported that Stewart was booked into the Springfield Municipal jail around 7 a.m. and released about an hour later. USA Today reported that he was released around 8 a.m. to his teammate, fellow wide receiver Dakorien Moore. The charge is an allegation, and the records do not show any court outcome. A spokesperson for the university’s football program told KATU, “We are aware of the incident and are gathering information at this time.” PEOPLE has contacted the University of Oregon for comment. The Ducks play next on the road against Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m. ET. Should a player face team discipline before the case is resolved? #evan #Oregon #CollegeFootball #Sports #Spring
