The saddest thing about Homelander is that whenever he genuinely lets his guard down and shows someone his vulnerable side they end up betraying him It doesn’t excuse the horrible things he’s done but it explains so much about why he is the way he is deep down he desperately wants to be loved but every time he allows himself to trust someone it only reinforces his belief that vulnerability is weakness he has all the power in the world yet he can’t have the one thing he’s wanted his entire life…genuine love.
