Incorrect.. The reason why it doesn’t charge you straight away is because we have a zone system with different fares in London and the machine can’t guess where you’re going to exist hence how much you’ll need to pay, and can’t charge you beforehand.. It DOES take 10p straight away to verify your card is active though.

you get charged at the end of the day as you have to tap to leave but it charges the cheapest daily rate. So you may take several trips in a day, so at the end of the day it charges a daily rate not all the singles

Every purchase has a code when you tap your card. It makes a new one every payment anytime you tap your card it generates. A new one.

I once used a random money card I used for a trip to Brazil and it would let me in without paying for like 6 months. The money I saved that year 🤣

It's actually so they can sort out the price for the cap. So if you make alot of trips and tap in and out it will only charge x amount. Where is you did like one ride it will charge different
