@latest.new11: Bills’ C.J. Gardner-Johnson Apologizes for Spitting at an Opponent and Is Suspended for One Game Buffalo Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson has apologized for spitting at an opponent. The 28-year-old was ejected in the first half of Buffalo’s 33-30 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, Oct. 18. He spit in the direction of Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, 23. Gardner-Johnson posted a long apology on his Instagram Story. “There is no excuse for my actions, and I take full accountability,” he wrote. He called the gesture “inappropriate, unnecessary, and not a reflection of the respect” he has for Bowers or the game. He also wrote that “there is a line that should never be crossed.” After the game, he told reporters the two were arguing in the heat of the moment. “It was nothing negative. He ain’t do nothing to me,” he said, according to ESPN. “That gesture isn’t warranted.” Bowers told reporters, “I don’t even know. Just talking a little bit and then... I don’t know.” Reports on Monday, Oct. 19 say Gardner-Johnson has been suspended for one game without pay. He promised to “learn from this, grow from it.” He added, “MY actions will speak louder than my words moving forward.” Should the one-game suspension be enough? #CJ #BuffaloBills #NFL #Sports #Raiders
