in AZ, this happened so often (bc flash flooding) that in 1995 the "stupid motorist law" was enacted, which says that if you willfully drive into a flooded area, you are financially responsible for your rescue. should be national imo

I lived on Kauai for a few years and worked at a hotel. When I tell you I had tourists call and get MAD at me when I couldn’t give them driving directions to Oahu… like. They were pissed when I mentioned an airplane, and could not understand there wasn’t a highway?! It’s an island in the middle of the Pacific. The MIDDLE. Of the PACIFIC. OCEAN. 🫤
