Although theres enough fault to pass around, this is a parenting issue. I often frequent car shows with my 9 year old and he knows do not touch shyt YOU, not mommy, can't afford.

How did the parents not have eyes on their children? Why are the children in the car if I, as the parent, am not? Car show or otherwise, as a parent, one of the first rules to your child(ren) before getting out of your own car before going into any establishment is, “DON’T TOUCH NUTHIN!” You gotta say what you mean and they have to KNOW that there’ll be consequences for disobedience!

Torn but same time as a parent my kids KNOW when we go to car shows to never sit in the driver seat, they don’t drive, and it prevents this. So that’s a parenting issue they are to fault. Being in the back seat and testing out where they’ll be sitting as a passenger and getting a feel is one thing. But there’s no accidentally starting it that kid is far too old, he turned it on on purpose. He knows better for sure. Saying it’s an accident is bs!!
