@fox12oregon: Bend FC opened a free community camp this week, giving students a place to go while school is out following Thursday’s deadly school shooting. The camp gives kids a chance to spend time with other children while providing parents peace of mind that their kids have somewhere safe to go during the workday. The first 100 spots filled within 12 hours of Bend FC announcing the camp. After expanding capacity several times, 225 kids are signed up. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes soccer, flag football, arts and crafts, music and other activities. Monday and Tuesday’s camps are full. Silver Rail Elementary students are not returning to class until further notice, so Bend FC is reserving Wednesday through Friday for those students.
