„There was no Germany before 1871“ is factually wrong. It was not a nation state before that, but Germany as a culture and confederation already exited. And the correct name was “Holy Roman Empire of German Nation“

Correct partly: yes, the Prussian version of Germany as a political Unit was founded 1871. But there was a foregoing political body that existed from the late middle ages through the 17th century, which became increasingly powerless after 1648 in favor of the partial states and ended with Napoleon‘s conquest. And, Germany was since about 1200 spoken of as the area where the German speaking people lived. 😎😀

The successor of the ancient Roman Empire was the Eastern Roman Empire with capital imperial city Constantinople. The German historians called it 'Byzantine' because of the ancient Greek name of the city. The Emperor had the title of 'Emperor of Romans'. That's for history.

I do not understand what you want to convey with this video. it seems as if you find important to relativize the importance of Germany. why? do you have an urgent reason?

Germany isn't a centralized state like France or England to this very day. Germany being a federal state is in every Germans identity.

As a cosmopolitan I think there should be no borders in the world and no nations. Unfortunately nationalism rose in the 19th century and divided people into nations. When asked where I am from, I always say I’m from Europe (which I understand as a geographical area).
